This past week a big flashy sign went up at the deserted Safeway on Broadway at Mercer (530 Broadway East). The sign is promoting the Brix Condos. Demolishing that Safeway to make room for 2 story loft condos is going to do great things for the north end of Broadway. Here are some more details from the development notice:
- 7,765 square feet of retail at ground level
- 140 units above
- 155 parking spots
- 5 stories on the east side of the building, 6 stories on the west
I wonder how much longer it will be before we find out what’s going to happen to the old deserted QFC just across the street?
