My Meritage close date slipped from 2/7 to 2/15. I’m actually happy about this since I haven’t secured a lender yet. Though I’m sure others might be less pleased.
Why the delay? The wonky weather has affected elevator installation (critical for move-ins), the cement floors for the second floor, and painting the exterior. At this point a slip of week or two is great compared to the multi-month slips at Three19 down the street.

Art: What do you know about real estate? I thought you were a railroad architect.

Yes, it is frustrating to have a delay in closings. We are lucky that it is not more extended, and hopefully the weather will cooperate from here on out. :)
Thanks to all of the buyers I talked to today who were so understanding (including you Matt!). I am really looking forward to the great group of people who will live at Meritage.

Art!
I can’t believe it! I googled you and found you on this blog… UNBELIEVABLE! You’re darned right you’re not selling the property. You know that DSHS has $80,000 lien against you. Guggenheim?? HA! How about designer of broken families! I just met up with your ex and her three kids in KY. I’m headed to ID next month to meet up with your high school girlfriend and your sons.
Real estate and unpaid child-support don’t mix. We’re coming for you Art.
luv,

Tracy,
I don’t think I have anything to worry about. I’m also a judge in Latham, Massachusetts. I’ll just use my connections on the bench to take care of everything.

tracy b. is taking it to a new level!
Although now I see Art Vandelay’s comment has been deleted. WTF!

I haven’t deleted anything.. Maybe his comment was on another post?

I was having problems submitting comments last night and the system interpreted it as spam and removed all my posts. Matt unblocked my posts but unfortunately now there are duplicates. Matt, if you’re able to, feel free to delete the duplicates.

I think you have something funky going on with your WordPress install. My comment was originally the second comment on this thread (after Art Vandelay’s). Now it is the first and appears to be responding to no one.

The system thinks I’m spam for whatever reason so has removed my posts. Matt restored some of my posts last night but I’m still unable to post with my normal profile.

The Art Vandelay exchange must be an attempt at blog humor. “Art Vandelay” is a fictional character from Seinfeld (I think he was George’s alter ego). Latham, Mass. is a fictional town reference on the show.

I’m looking into it… Just had a long day recruiting kids at Stanford.

Art Vandelay is my online alterego. It’s in reference to Seinfeld as some have commented on in previous replies. I just use it as a screen name. Occasionally some will comment on it and make Seinfeld jokes.
However, I have no idea what’s going on with the Tracy B. comment. She isn’t referencing anything in Seinfeld. She may be serious and there really is an Art Vandelay out there that she’s looking for. If that’s the case, I’m not him.

Art: Don’t try and hide what you know is true. Tracy is merely calling you out on your claim during the show that you designed the new addition to the Guggenheim. You don’t remember telling Jerry’s lawyer girlfriend that? You even said it “didn’t take you very long either”. Cocky bastard!
… and you want to be my latex salesman!
