Is Leona delayed?

By October 1, 2007

Leona

A reader writes in with questions about their purchase at Leona:

Seems like there is not a lot of info on The Leona out there. I am hoping to get an update on the construction and timeline for when it will be done. I bought unit [# removed]. Williams Marketing, when they finally get back to you, said that it is on track, but if you drive by, one has to wonder how can that be??!! Have you heard anything as to the status? There has been little to no communication with the home owners for how things are going and December (the expected finish date) is just around the bend.

My advice would be to count on a delay. And if you’re looking for more information on the project you should directly approach someone involved in the project but not at the marketing company. For instance for my purchase at Trace I got back channel info from friends of friends of architects working on the project. I also got info from real estate agents who had access to information they weren’t supposed to share with buyers and from Redfin transaction coordinators who called up the city inspectors to check on permits. Of course this is all ridiculous, the developer should just have a blog and keep everyone up to date but the marketing folks love to control the message even though you’ve paid $500,000 for something.

I own and manage Urban Living, a boutique Seattle and Bellevue real estate brokerage. I love lofts, floating homes, new construction, and mid-century moderns, but I will help you buy or sell just about anything!
