Why hasn’t anyone bought this yet?

Why hasn’t anyone bought 1515 Fairview Ave E yet? For $125,000 you get a 400 square foot apartment PLUS a boathouse:

Showing by appt. only. Think of the possibility in this boathouse built by Boeing for experimental jetfoil watercraft. Heavily engineered in the Boeing tradition with 6×6 and 4×10 timber framing and pontoons of the very highest grade half inch thick steel. Exterior dimensions 32′x60′. Septic/holding tank, 440V electric and water connections for shoreside. Apartment area is 8′x50′ with windows french doors and small bathroom. Moorage is rented, month to month.

With 25′ boat slips selling for $40k last time I checked, this is a deal.

Or maybe I’m wrong. After all there’s no kitchen and maybe you can’t live in it. If so you’ll no doubt correct me.

I would not compare this to buying a boat slip. This is just the structure. The boat slip is rented:

“Moorage is rented, month to month.”

Leasing 32 x 60 of water, if you can even find such space, ain’t cheap here in Seattle. This ad really belongs in Boat Trader, not a real estate web site.

Hmm…I read that as the slip is currently rented to someone, but that you’d be the owner and could give them notice as it’s a month-to-month agreement.

Perhaps, but who is granting you rights to moor the floating boathouse itself? At this price, I don’t think you are buying a permanent right to keep it where it exists.

They seem rather proud of that bathroom in there…
