Westland Manor: Best photos ever

Urbnlivn reader Ming went and visited Westland Manor at 16th and John this morning and had this to report.

They’re looking to finish end of March, units are 650-690 sqft (with two 2-bed units at around 820 sqft).

Prices are $320-$344, with the 2 bed units around $420.

Kitchen is small, but rest are decent sized, with a lot of storage in most units (plus storage unit in main floor). No d/w, no w/d (common laundry room).

No parking, people will get 1 yr free, and the first 13 units get first right of refusal to 13 spots that are attached (or semi attached) but retained by the current building owner for rental.

Price seems a little high for no parking, but I guess they’re trying to comp with Betsy Ross, which apparently sold out pretty quick last year (but now there are units on the market).

They also recently put some listings on the MLS which include winner photos such as:

28030333 4 1 Westland Manor: Best photos ever

28030333 6 1 Westland Manor: Best photos ever

But don’t include photos of the interiors of the units.

I think those photos are in stiff competition with 526 17th Ave E #14‘s photo of a plate (thanks to Marcella for the link):

Agreed. Those are some wicked photos.

Blown. Away. What a door knob. Just when I thought this was the perfect building, I saw the external door. How could perfection be improved on? I just knew this is where I would be calling home. Forget a scan of a floor plan, or a picture of the kitchen or main living space, I really think every listing should just show door knobs.

No more photos, no more photos. Westland Manor – you had me with the door knob.

Hey guys – be fair. The photos posted here were part of a presale announcment merely meant to show some finishes to be forthcoming on a 1.2 million dollar ongoing restoration. The photos you have called for are now available at http://www.westlandmanor.com or any real estate web site accessing the current listings. As Ming said construction won’t be done until the end of March, but the model unit is complete and I’d be happy to show you the goods first hand. My contact info is on the web site. Cheers!

Be fair? Are you trying to say the photos of old door handles and chandeliers were going to entice people to come and see the units? In case you haven’t noticed, the market we’re in relies a lot on first impression and creating anticpation for something exciting. I frankly lost interest when I saw photos of fixtures, not of the units.

The updated pictures do a wonderful job at portraying the 1.2 million dollar restoration. However, if you had waited to post the finished photos of the unit, you probably would’ve garnered more interest.

By the way, judging from the original photos, it looks like you had a model unit already completed? The photo of the sink in the kitchen has the same granite and backsplash as the finished photos.

Also, photos aren’t updated on your Westland Manor site, only on the MLS.
