Found out about two new conversions today.
McKean in Queen Anne
8 homes all 762 square feet in a 1929 brick building at 1404 Olympic Way West. Starting at $334,950. Oddly they don’t have any photos of the exterior but I think it is this building:

Interested? There’s an event Thursday, April 3rd, from 6 pm to 8 pm. In the press release they let us know that the sunset will be at approximately 7:43 pm. Here’s a photo of the view:

You can find out more at: McKeanCondos.com and check out more view photos here.
Aprea View on Capitol Hill
A number of units for Aprea View Condominiums at 601 14th Ave E (note Redfin has mis-mapped this building, it is really at 14th and Mercer) appeared on the market today. Average $/sq ft is $386 making them relatively cheap.
Sounds like this developer flipper is lazy and not putting the same effort that the developer of McKean is investing:
Real Estate 101: location, location, location. This condo is a blank slate waiting for your creative remodel ideas- you can always change cabinets ( & have fun doing it) but you can’t change your location or your views & this is a great Capitol Hill location…
Update: Corrected location. It really is on Capitol Hill :).

Actually, the map results are inaccurate–that’s at 14th and Mercer. I only know because I live near that building–and to judge by the lack of “construction activity” you’re right about how little effort has been but into this building since they bought it a year or so ago.

Thanks Ellen and andyf. I checked on Google Maps and Microsoft’s Maps Live and they agree with you. We’ll get their location corrected on Redfin today.

I don’t understand why conversions are still happening. There is already a glut of condos, new and old. Can these people simply not read any financial or housing news?!?!
