Vladimir recently sent me a link to a New York Magazine article on the marketing of condos in New York, If You Lived Here, You’d Be This Guy by Now.

The article goes on to talk about the extents marketing is going to in order to sell to a particular person and lifestyle. Though I like this quote:

Does any of this work? Nobody knows for sure. Not one real-estate professional I spoke to could cite evidence showing that these maneuvers boost sales. Indeed, one wonders whether they put off buyers who don’t share the precise tastes they reflect.

Maybe it’s working because I have an appointment with Jon Rosichelli on Monday to try and get more appropriate pieces for my loft. Jon’s the one behind the staging at The Marlborough, Trace Lofts and has staged a number of other interesting spaces for sale in Seattle.

    WAIT! so everyone who buys a condo isn’t a dot-com metrosexual??? next you’re going to tell me that they don’t all drive 3-series beamers.
