Seattle Lighting Suggestions?

October 1st, 2008 · 5 Comments

A reader wrote in wondering about modern lighting suggestions.

I haven’t found any stores I love for lighting in the city. I checked out the usuals to furnish my place with the following:

  • CB2 Tripod
  • Artemide Tizio
  • Used metal pendant light that I had refurb’d at Harold’s Lighting
  • Ikea Kramare
  • Ikea Grono
  • Ikea Fado
  • Unknown wall light in front hall
  • Unknown wall lights in bathroom hall
  • Unknown track lighting in the kitchen

What are your favorite light companies either online or in Seattle?

Have you tried Artemide in Seattle? Its located at 10 Occidental Ave S, Seattle - (206) 903-1511. Great stuff if you have a tendency for the modern flare.

Try Alexander lighting on 8th and lander they have a ton of stuff on all ranges. Or Resolute on 9th and Terry (i think). Really nice stuff but on the high end. Both also have websites.

I’ve also used dwr.com (they have a local store on 1st) as a source for a nelson lamp - they’re slightly pricey, but good quality reproducitons.

Oddly enough lowes/home depot sometimes have modern lighting in stock - for instance http://tinyurl.com/52ernz looks decent.

    Call these people:
    VisionArt
    206-328-4537
    http://www.visionartllc.com

They decorate model homes very inexpensively and know where all the great places to shop like Moe’s and Kasala in SoDo.
