Auction 1707: Going Once, Going Twice…

I spent the weekend on Orcas Island and missed out on Auction of 1707.

From what I can gather what happened was they auctioned 14 of the 17 units. Since the final price of the 14th unit was rather low they decided to suspend the auction and held back the last 3 units (#102, #112, #208.) Add those 3 to the other 7 units they held back from the beginning there are now 10 unsold units in the building and it sounds like they are pursuing an “alternative format” to move the remaining units.

I’ll update you as I hear more.

Of course, if anyone attended fill us in!

Yeah they didn't sell like they wanted. There was an auction on the Press which is across the street and they sold out in an hour! The bidding was very competitive. Buyers were fighting back and forth on the bids and those who didn't get a place quickly put their names on the list just in case someone dropped out after obtaining a unit, which doesn't normally happen and isn't a good idea. 1707 will probably have units available for a while because there are going to be quite a few auctions taking place at the large inventory of condos we have in the city.
