Equinox on Eastlake Goes Apartments

The last week has been very busy at work getting ready for our all hands meeting which was on Friday, so I missed the news that Equinox on Eastlake has gone apartments. I think I know one Urbnlivn reader who will be quite happy to get their deposit back.

    Probably good for the Lake Union/downtown market. The glut of condos was really slowing things down. We're getting to a good level of inventory now, Veer lofts is at 2/3 sold.

    Veer is 2/3 sold? Not enough to form a HOA, but getting closer. When they have a flexi-loft available for $225K, I'm in!

    Hmmm. Just looked up the Veer on King County's property records site and I count 53 units sold. Maybe they are not up to date, but there are 99 units in this building, plus commercial space (none of which seems to be rented).

    Also, I am not sure that condos turning to apartments is a good thing for the Lake Union/downtown market. Since it's cheaper to rent than to own, why would you pony up to buy an over-priced condo when you can live in a new condo for less, and not have the hassles of ownership.
