Matt's reality pics are also somewhat misleading. The view they have on their website was taken from the southeastern corner of the rooftop deck, but they're pretty nice night time city views--especially for the price point.

I live a couple blocks away on 5th and Vine, and ditched my car over a year ago. I get to my office in QA from a stop 2 blocks away from Marselle, get the best Thai food on the 5-point block, and know that on Aurora you can catch a bus to almost anywhere else in Seattle. There's even a liquor store just south of Marselle behind the Pink Elephant Car Wash!!!

It was suggested that Aurora will be 'parked' once the tunnel is complete, but I wouldn't bank on it.

I do think the exterior would be nicer if it were plated in gold, or even platinum, but that's just my personal opinion.

They are in fact selling really well. Probably because they're priced very low and only a couple blocks from the center. If you are Mr. or Mrs. Cristalla then Marselle is more than likely not the place for you.

Nothing wrong with Marselle. Great interiors? -yes. Tacky facade? -could be nicer. Inconvenient location? -only for grocery shopping.

Or it could be knocked down to make way for construction of the new tunnel entrance/exit. A gamble either way, you are guaranteed a front row seat of a major construction site for years.

Though it will likely always have a fair amount of traffic on it, that view of 99 is likely to change in the next 5+ years. If someone were willing to put up with the lousy view, they might gamble a good bet, if the city continues on the path currently scoped for the deep bore tunnel. if you check out the second half of this video from the WSDOT, you'll see representations of how the city envisions reconnecting the street grid up to 3 blocks north of Marselle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgtOTMJt-AI

I agree that the immediate surroundings aren't very good, particularly being right off Aurora, which you did not mention. However, I work right nearby and it is hardly a major hike to Belltown or the central downtown shopping district. I head over there for lunch, shopping or transit all the time. It's the equivalent of you walking from Trace to Linda's for a beer.

The nearest SLUT stop is a few blocks away; Belltown and SLU are a few blocks away. How does this make a person totally dependent on a car or bus? Someone confined to a wheelchair, maybe. Most other bipeds, no.
