Condo Powerhouses Williams Marketing & MCM Collaborate to Create Matrix Real Estate—Largest Condo & Townhome Sales & Marketing Firm in WA.
Sounds like Michael Miller and Leslie Williams are both stepping back and that Chaun Mackey will lead the newly formed company. Official announcement likely coming Thursday or Friday.
My first impression is, that Matrix Real Estate is a bad name.

Seems like more of a survival move rather than a strategic one. I can't imagine how these firms are managing to stay afloat.

With no sales in the pipeline and having lost several of their marquee accounts (e.g. Olive 8 to Coldwell), it was only a matter of time until Williams had to do something.
Matrix is a terrible name from an Internet perspective (already lots of them) but it is kind of appropriate for condo sales if you consider the Matrix movies where people are stacked twenty high in pods, living in a virtual fantasy world.

Powerhouses?? How are they powerhouses?? Looking at their prospective websites they are both drastically diminished from previous years & lucky to still be in business. Anyone selling condos in this day & age has missed the boat & is lucky to be eating soda crackers in a lifeboat- And Matrix?? Is this a reference to all the bullets, lawsuits and attrition they have experienced like the protagonists in the movie?

Matt Goyer, again, a person is posting as “The MD” and it isn't me. Can you please remove the comment posted by this poser? Check the IP addresses if you like.
Its a shame because I actually agree with this person's comment. I just don't agree with taking my blog ID. Thanks!

Yes, does look like a different MD from looking at the IP address and email. I'll contact them and ask them to post under a different name.

Hi Other MD,
I tried emailing you but the email address you gave didn't work. In the future please post under a different name so folks didn't get confused with the other MD.

Wow I sense a lot of doom and gloom nay sayers!
@ Skip “With no sales in the pipeline”
Where are you getting your info from?! I just did a quick MLS search on sold condos and residential and came up with 174 closings as of today since 01/05/09. 97 active listings and 61 pending. Williams only has 20 active agents.
@ the rest of you
Why can't you see that these two companies are joining together to possibly take on more bank owned and/or lender controlled properties?
Yes, I agree that “Matrix” is a goofy name for these companies. They are still going to use their branding and trade names of Williams & Miller.
Next time the market shifts, make a move and make a bunch of money instead of get on the internet and make false assumptions. Just my piece of mind.
Now lets hear it…
