That's a heavily loaded question, my friend. I just read “The High Cost of Free Parking”, and it kind of makes you rethink the price of parking in every sense.

But I'm sure you just meant: how much does it cost a purchaser to buy a parking space in a condo building, which is a decidedly more empirical question.

    $30k in 1999. Unknown now.

The developer at Lumen was selling extra spaces between $9k and $20k depending on the size. They were offered to current owners before the auction.

We also have one owner selling a space for $10k right now.

Hey, if that's how cheap you can buy a parking space at Lumen, you should buy 10 of them! That is literally unheard of pricing for a parking space. Anyway, I love this question because I am looking for a parking space in downtown's core right now. I'm finding them anywhere from $40,000/space (for a crappy one) up to $75,000 for a space for a nice one.

Over the past 3 years Condo spaces have ranged from $20K to $40K – largely depending on location of building, and quality of space (outdoor gated to underground highly secured, and if a storage locker is a part of that deeded spot or sold separately…if separate secure storage units average about $10 – $15K each)

I have always wondered why a developer has not built a downtown condo for parking. They have had them back east for a number of years.
I am sure they could be sold a lot more easily than all of the un-sold condos that are downtown now.

I think we just shelled out $14 to park for 2 hours across from Pike Place Market (we were to early for the evening special).

Trio is selling off some parking spots. I think they're in the 10-15k range depending on size.

Decatur on First Hill is offering spaces for $20k – $25k.

Anybody else feel like the developers “blew it” with so many 2BR condos coming with only one parking spot?

Monthly rates for parking on Capitol Hill are in the $100-200 range. Garage Parking at Chloe on 14th and Union is $150/month. Garage Parking at The Pearl Apartments on Pike & Madison is $125/month.

2 years ago down near 2nd & Colombia indoor parking garage, secure, appraised at $30 to $50K…obviously less now but long term, great buys.
