Unless you sleep with the window open, I'm a little surprised to hear noise complaints when you live in a solid brick building. You might want to check that they insulated around the windows completely with foam (got to pull the trim off), even small air gaps will let sound though. Adding inside soundproofing windows does work, I've slept soundly at a hotel overlooking a taxiway at Heathrow airport. I think they had 4 layers of glass.

You shouldve thought about the “city noise” before wanting to live downtown! hahahaha….ear plugs are cheaper btw :)

I have one of these also and they work great, although you will still hear deep bass from vehicles driving by/parking nearby and playing rap at 3AM. ***holes.

so, may I ask, what is the difference between this and an air filter that produces a constant white noise also?
