First Look: Terravita Luxury Apartments

We’re making the rounds on the new construction apartments on Capitol Hill. Lawrence LoftsCitizen – and now a first look at Terravita Luxury Apartments which are scheduled for initial move-ins in July.

The basics:

  • 108 units in total
  • 12 – two bedroom, 47 – one bedroom, 15 – open one bedroom, 34 studios
  • Prices range from $1225/mo for 411 sf studio to $3050/mo for a 1157 sf two bedroom penthouse.
  • w/s/g are metered to each unit (pay extra)
  • parking is an add’l $150/mo
  • Wood frame building with extra insulation and staggered studs, dual pane windows
  • Not LEED but has energy star appliances and a few other green perks

The big question: What’s luxury about it? For me, I always insanely hope that luxury means a gas cooktop and to date I’ve been disappointed.  It was no different at Terravita. What does bring the apartments to the luxury level are the finishes, location, and abundance of amenities including:

  • Business center
  • Gym
  • Party room
  • Game room
  • Rooftop deck

They did a nice job with the finishes – especially the granite counters, 10’ ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows. Aesthetically, I really liked the dark wood floors (but you’ll find a few have partial carpet). You can choose between cabinet color schemes as well — one of which is a stainless finish.

If you are in the market for a 2-bedroom, then you are in luck because the premium west-facing views are all 2-bedroom units – and all are still available. There are a few studios that open to private terraces for those that need a little outdoor space.

Terravita is located on the corner of Pine & Belmont. They began hard hat tours less than two weeks ago and already have a number of units pre-leased. So far, the only confirmed retail for the ground floor is said to be Denali Fitness, a small Seattle-based gym.

If you want more details about Terravita you’ll have to wait for the website that is in the works and supposed to be live in the coming weeks. In the meantime, you can check out the pictures I took or contact the leasing office for a tour via terravitaseattle.com.

Ugh, what a let down. The stainless finish on the cabinets is terrible! Cheap bath room fixtures, mid-range appliances, and overpriced. I wish developers/ regulators  would see the value in a nicer fridge, better soundproofing (god forbid we get more concrete/steel), then they can charge the rent they are asking for.

Location won’t mean anything the way there tearing down everything in the neighborhood and replacing it with stuff like this…Once the Bauhaus block is gone and the BMW and Mercedes buildings are replaced the character will be gone too. Although the abandoned Marion Apts removal is a positive, maybe it shouldn’t have been abandoned to begin with.

Their craigslist ads do not say “luxury” at all.  Yikes!

I agree on the Bauhaus building, but BMW and Mercedes? If you want to gawk at expensive cars, the Ferrari and Maserati dealer is a five-minute walk away. In the meantime, those giant ex-dealerships can be redeveloped into something the community can actually enjoy.

Actually, location is major here- possibly negative-considering all the halfway houses and associated crime reports from the halfway houses a block away on Summit.

A few have partial carpet? They’re open now, and most units appear to have carpet. Every unit with a bedroom that I’ve seen has had carpet in the bedroom. All but three floorplans I’ve seen have had carpet in the living room.
