Central District ’80s Contemporary

Central District

The rain and trying to recover my feet after an epic ski trip kept me from hiking or skiing today so I ventured out and saw 835 15th Ave at its open house.

The house is at 15th and Marion, just a few blocks away from where I live. Nice corner lot. Garage entrance off the alley. Small, low maintenance yard with hot tub on the 15th Ave side. The house has most recently been owned by a contractor who did a lot of updates. New kitchen, bath, etc.

The most surprising feature was a urinal in the bathroom off of the kitchen.

Something you don’t see in the photos are the heavily textured walls. Most have been something popular in the 80’s. Doesn’t look very modern today and I’d probably investigate how to remove them even though it is probably cost prohibitive.

Overall I’m a fan. Great location. Lots of trees, lots of windows and nice views. Sounds like they had a busy open house even though it was kinda bleh out today.
