While some of us are still nursing a slight sunshine hangover from the labor day festivities, others took the opportunity of the long weekend off to close on 62 homes last week! Three units in Escala sold (the 11th floor unit actually went pending the same day it was listed), and 2 in the Marselle condominium on John st in Cap Hill. I’m a noted sucker for the modern contemporary, and a little jealous of whoever swooped two of the contemporary town homes along 61st street in Old Ballard, right next to the Ballard playground. The units featured this week were picked with a major bias; I’m desperately holding onto summer, and each home has a little slice of heaven to enjoy those last precious days we have before the rain kicks in! This week’s units also have another thing in common, and that is determined buyers; these three units all went pending within 2 days from the list date!
200 W Comstock St Apt 401
A 2 bed 2 bath at the Abbey sold last week in Queen Anne, and this beautiful SW corner unit takes the cake, with views of the Puget Sound and Space Needle right from the master. The kitchen includes granite counter tops, cute island breakfast bar, and LOTS of natural light throughout! With the corner unit comes a great sun porch, but the lighting and sunbathing are not the most interesting features here; the 2nd bedroom has been converted into an office, with an inconspicuous Murphy bed build in, (although the notes suggest the room can easily be converted back into a standard bedroom.) The master also has a walk in California closet, and the master bathroom has a 5 piece bath, including an over-sized soaking tub! The corner gem sold for $624,950, and went pending after one day on the market.

I’m quite smitten with this 1,400 sf modern fab Eastlake home that just sold for $545,000, mostly due to the abundance of bells and whistles it came with! A) before you even step foot in the entryway, the cedar encased sun porch has enough space for an ample garden, lawn chairs and BBQ; perfect for the end of summer house warming party they’ll likely throw, (and if it’s more than a few friends, they can host the whole block up on the landscaped rooftop deck).
The hickory open planked staircase stands out, as does many of the custom built-ins throughout the space, like the built in fireplace in the living room. Alot of the built-ins utilize storage space, which really opens up the floor plan.
615 E Pike #405
This 2 bed 1.5 bath in Capitol Hill sold for just shy of half a mil, and the big highlights are obviously the stunning two story floor to ceiling bay windows in the living room, and it also features two private decks perfect for entertaining. While the kitchen are is on the smaller side, the blonde flooring against the cherry cabinetry works quite nicely, and the open floor plan into the living room must make it feel larger. There is two bedrooms in this unit, as well as an added office space, and with the way the floor plan is set up, I’d guess there are other units in this building that are selling as creative commercial condo space. This unit went pending after two days on the market too!
