More Condos (and Hotel Units) Coming to Downtown

On Wednesday Marc Stiles at the PSBJ broke the news, Downtown Seattle hotel-condo project planned:

The project is planned for the corner of Stewart Street and Minor Avenue, according to a press release on GIS’s website. The site, which is now a parking lot, is the same place where GIS planned a 25-story hotel and residential project six years ago.

Here’s the press release. Details sure are sparse!

OCTOBER 16, 2013
SEATTLE, WA – GIS International Group is pleased to announce its commencement of the development process on the land that was entered into a structured deal with a private investment group in Downtown Seattle on the corner of Stewart Street and Minor Avenue. GIS International Group will work on constructing a unique hotel-condo building in the Denny Triangle Neighborhood.

GIS is assembling a team of local professionals to design and build this unique building. The details of the development are not currently available but stay tuned for more details to be announced in the very near future.

The character and style of the design will be new to the area and will be independently managed.

Here’s our previous coverage of Stewart and Minor. Very curious if it will be the loft style that they were talking about earlier!

About Matt Goyer

I love condos, lofts, floating homes, new construction and mid-century moderns so much so that since starting this blog in 2006 I've written over 2,000 blog posts about them!

For years I resisted becoming a real estate agent preferring to be a marketing executive at Redfin but after leaving Redfin (after seven years!) I caved in the spring of 2014 and became a broker. So if you need help finding that "Urbnlivn-style" place or selling your home email me at, I'd be happy to help you.

Prior to Urbnlivn and Redfin, I worked at Microsoft after graduating from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Mathematics with a major in computer science.
