More Details on the 2,000 Units Coming to SLU

Onni Group Denny Way and Thomas

Here’s a little more detail on the previously reported 2,000 units coming to South Lake Union from the Puget Sound Business Journal, Condos or apartments? Canadian developer shares details of mega project in Seattle dubbed the Seattle Times project:

Located between Denny Way and Thomas Street and between Fairview and Boren avenues north, the project will have around 1,945 apartments in four buildings: two will be 400 feet tall and two will be 240 feet tall. There will be retail space in the two podiums, and 1,700 underground parking stalls.

It is also undecided if it will be apartments or condos yet. However, “the company is designing all the units to “a condominium standard to allow flexibility for them to be either condominiums or apartments.”

400 ft? Isn’t that twice as high as the Mirabella across the street? I thought building heights in that corridor were shorter so they wouldn’t obstruct views of the space needle….No?
