On the market for the first time in twenty years!  This 3,120 sq ft, 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath mid-century at 2522 W Fulton St has so many unique details I can see why you’d want to stay.  Listed for $865,000, the house sits on a large lot on the eastern side of Magnolia overlooking downtown and Mount Rainier.  Can you imagine all the nightcaps looking out at the city lights?

From the front, it’s fairly unassuming, but the slate entry leads to an impressive living space with cathedral ceilings, mahogany paneling, sandstone fireplace, and massive windows.  My guess is that the previous owners remodeled the kitchen when they moved in.  The simple cabinets are likely original and could probably be worked with, but the tile counter and vinyl floor have to go.  It could all coordinate much better with that crazy stone wall in the breakfast nook.  I love it about as much as I love the Dutch door.  A lot.  The upstairs is wrapped in a giant deck, which is where I would live on days like today.  Of course, there’s central A/C if it gets too hot.

Downstairs is practically a separate home.  In fact, it would make a great MIL.  There are two bedrooms, one bath, and a large family room/den/office with double-sided fireplace, plus a second kitchen and private patio.  A lot of house for the price, and potentially a very fun project.
