…would be your song if you bought one or both of these two condos at the top of Queen Anne’s southslope. Condos 9E and 9W, on the 9th floor of 111 W Highland Dr, have probably the best residential views in town, and you don’t have to worry about some new building blocking your view. This is a great location, with Kerry park next door and the QA business district nearby. Downtown is an easy drive, even better once you learn the shortcuts. If you have children or grandchildren, there’s a playground just below Kerry park.
The condos are currently separate units, east and west, with very different interior styles. The more formally designed, 2,764 square foot 9E, is a 3 bedroom and 3.25 bathroom unit, which lists for $2,600,000. The smaller 9W, with an art deco touch, has 2,592 square feet and is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit, listing for $2,400,000. You could buy the whole 5,356 square foot 9th floor for $5,000,000 (no quantity discount?) and make the listing agents (video) very happy. This is a concrete and steel building (quiet) built in 1974. Each unit also has a gas fireplace, radiant heat, 2 parking spaces in the garage, large storage units, and space in the building’s climate controlled wine cellar.
Downsides: Pricey, but you noticed that. Balcony goes across south side but is very narrow. Ceilings look to be under 9 feet, which is low for a penthouse nowadays. South facing windows, so it can get hot; at least my apartment 250 feet down the hill does.
