Every year, the Seattle Home Show highlights new gadgets and trends for better living. This year, the theme might be Wi-Fi. Look forward to checking out a Wi-Fi enabled grill and spa this weekend at Seattle Home Show 2,the fall edition of what organizers say is the nation’s oldest and largest home show.

The show opens Friday, October 3 and runs through Sunday, October 5 at CenturyLink Field Event Center.  Show hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily.  Admission is $12.00 adults, $8.00 seniors (60+), $3.00 juniors (age 7-15), and under age 7 are free.  E-tickets are available for purchase online and come with $1.00 parking at the CenturyLink Field Event Center Parking Garage and Safeco Field Garage

Nearly 500 exhibitors from a wide range of businesses – from construction to home appliances to interior design – will showcase their wares. Organizers say technology in the home, multi-generational living and diversity in kitchen design are some of the top trends that attendees will see this weekend.

Consumers are in a buying mode now, say exhibitors such as Howard Chermak of the award-winning firm Chermak Construction.

“There’s a higher level of confidence in investing in the more luxury items such as outdoor kitchens and fireplaces,” according to exhibitor Ben Middlemiss of London Design Build, whose firm is designing the Outdoor Living/Wine & Beer Garden.

Other show highlights include…

  • Nectargy Village, a community of products and services geared towards people age 50 and over
  • Chefs Demo Series, featuring leading chefs from the region demonstrating how they make some of their signature dishes
  • Made in America pavilion featuring products made in America
  • “Meet the Experts” seminar series on a wide range of topics for exterior and interior home improvement
