Over the past eight months the Seattle Police Department, through the use of SeaStat, has been tracking a steady rise in burglaries occurring in secured parking garages. Year to date there has been an increase of 57% or 316 more burglaries in secured parking garages for a total of 872 citywide. In the past month alone there have been 108 burglaries. These burglaries can be a car prowls, bike thefts or break-ins to rooms in a garage area.
