Record Low in Number of Homes For Sale

Wondering why you can’t find your dream home this winter? The problem is a record low in the number of homes for sale. The Seattle Times recently dug into this, Scarce listings drive King County home prices to new highs:

The median price of single-family homes sold in King County hit a new all-time high last month — $514,975 — amid record-low inventory, heralding even more intense bidding wars ahead in the typically busy spring home-buying season.

Think prices were high in 2007? Check out this chart:

Buyers, hopefully relief is in sight. Typically we see a lot of new listings in April, May and June.

Home owners, if you’ve been thinking of selling, now is a great time.
