Weekly Wrapup

By December 9, 2016

Et cetera

Everyone have a fun snow day?? This was the idyllic view from our floating home last night. I wish it hadn't melted so fast though!

While not many new homes have popped up, our buyers have been pouncing on the few that have, making for a surprisingly busy start to December. Our buyers aren't the only ones pouncing, the homes we've offered on, or considered offering on, all had other offers – it is still competitive! However, I suspect things will grind to a halt next week until the new year except for those few scrambling to try and get something before the end of the year.

In anticipation of next year being crazier than this year, we're looking to add a real estate assistant to our team if you know anyone looking to get their start in real estate.

Some articles that caught our eye this week – apartment developers are bullish (except for the ULI), likely because interns at all these tech companies make $100k/year. Here's a video tour of all that construction. And a time-lapse from 1984 to 2016. Not included in the video tours, builders are skimping on parking spots, and doors for toilets!? But Crosscut cautions these high-rises are energy hogs, not climate solutions.

And finally, the Seattle Times thinks Seattle buyers are panicking, we think they're anxious, but not yet panicking.

Stay warm and dry!

I own and manage Urban Living, a boutique Seattle and Bellevue real estate brokerage. I love lofts, floating homes, new construction, and mid-century moderns, but I will help you buy or sell just about anything!
