Selling #504 @ the ‘Taj: Sweet Digs!

You would think that as a Redfin employee I’d have some sort of inside access for getting my place on Sweet Digs our blog about Seattle real estate. But I really don’t so I was pleasantly surprised to see I made Sweet Digs today as one of the most clicked listings:

So where can you get the best of both worlds – the Capitol Hill Condo. Buildings usually top out around at most 10 stories and you still get impeccable views. From just about anywhere on the hill you have a QFC, Trader Joe’s, Safeway, or Co-op grocery store within a stone’s throw. The clubs and cafes won’t disappoint and when you just need the warm and fuzzies from seeing a mom with a stroller or a family throwing a Frisbee around on a Sunday afternoon you can walk down to Volunteer Park.

It will be interesting to see if that will lead to more showings over the next few days.

Something else that sometimes appears on Sweet Digs is an open house post from an owner about their house giving a little more color. Since I’m still too busy to have an open house here’s what I’d post:

Favorite Room: It’s a 747 square foot condo so there aren’t that many rooms! My favorite location in the condo is definitely the living room. I enjoy sitting on the couch and watching either the sun set over the Olympics over or the moon rising over downtown Seattle. I also love that as you walk in the unit the Space Needle fills the sliding glass door.

What I like about the neighborhood: I think Capitol Hill is an under appreciated neighborhood. Especially for those working outside of downtown. Why? You are blocks away from I-5 and half way between I-90 and 520. Making it easy to head south, north and you have a choice of how you want to head east. You are also blocks away from the 545 bus stop if you’re heading to Microsoft campus (it’s the second last stop before campus.) And if you work downtown the 14 stops almost right outside your door making it easy to get downtown but I’ve found you can walk downtown or bike downtown almost just as fast. Unfortunately coming home you have to walk/bike up a bit of a hill. Other than being, in my mind, perfectly situated for work the neighborhood is great as it features lots of cheap eats, restaurants and bars. I like that I can almost never drive.

Favorite area restaurant: I eat a lot at Honey Hole (great sandwiches), Bimbos (great Burritos), Pagliacci (pizza), Sushi Maki (great sushi)…

Recent remodeling: I haven’t made any big changes, it is new construction after all, but the place is nicely decorated with window coverings and furniture. If you like anything I’m happy to sell it.

Most romantic spot: Ugh, the bedroom? :)

I own and manage Urban Living, a boutique Seattle and Bellevue real estate brokerage. I love lofts, floating homes, new construction, and mid-century moderns, but I will help you buy or sell just about anything!
