New D3 Design/Build Modern in Hawthorne Hills

A reader tipped us off to new construction at 4051 NE 56th St in Hawthorne Hills.  This might not be a typical target neighborhood for many of our readers, but street views show other new builds starting to eat up the older, smaller traditionals in this area.  Definitely an area to watch.  And, this is a great house!

One of the latest from D3 Design/Build, this almost 3,000 sq. ft., 4 bedroom, 3 bath home is listed for $1,399,000.  As much as I love the polished concrete floors and unique mix of finishes throughout the open living room/dining room/kitchen, the true highlight is the 2-story vaulted atrium ceiling.  Beyond brightening the entire space, which already receives plenty of light from the many windows, the shadows it casts add a dynamic decorative element that changes with the seasons.  Incredible.  For cozier moments, there is a family room off of the kitchen that’s perfect for movie nights.  There are also two fireplaces, one in the living room and one in the master.  And, there’s a spacious cedar deck right off the kitchen.  Let us know if you see this on in person.
