Must See Open Houses: August 23 and August 24
Everybody else seems to be on vacation, so here goes… there are 402 Open Houses in Seattle this weekend, so there is plenty to see. Let’s get started with these three who are all open Sunday.
Neighborhood: View Ridge
Open Houses: Sunday, August 24, 1-4 PM
Surprise, I’m starting with a mid-century modern. Built in 1951, this 4 bedroom, 1.75 bathroom (public records list 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom) house lists for $619,950. The open plan living room has cedar ceilings, a wood burning fireplace, and an updated kitchen with granite counter tops. 2 of the bedrooms are on the main level and have exposed beams that have unfortunately been painted. The downstairs/basement level has been finished, but the public records don’t seem to agree. Worth a visit though.
Neighborhood: Meadowbrook
Open Houses: Sunday, August 24, 1-4 PM
A newly built modern that backs onto the Thornton Creek greenbelt. This $674,000 house comes with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, high ceilings and plenty of windows. Cozy deck off the kitchen is perfect for breakfast. There are houses on both sides, but the backyard greenbelt more than makes up for it. Lot size is 7,603 square feet, which is pretty good for a new house in Seattle.
Neighborhood: Beacon Hill
Open Houses: Saturday August 23, 11-2 PM Sunday, August 24, 1-4 PM
This is a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom end-unit townhouse at the New Holly community in South Beacon Hill. Listing for $300,000, it has a contemporary interior and it’s own backyard with a detached garage behind. Light rail is nearby and there is a park across the street. It last sold for $200,000 in 2012, but the property information does say that it was remodeled. Nice looking unit and I thought about buying there when they were first built.
