Cutting Edge Of Modern Design In 1963 Seattle

Houses, Seward Park

7001 Brighton Ln S_front

This house by architect Ken Koehler, was truly unique for it’s time. I just spent an hour looking for examples of this style and found nothing before 1963, and most later examples were much larger, non-residential buildings. If anybody has more information about Ken Koehler, please let me know.  Listing for $948,000, 7001 Brighton Ln S, has 4 bedrooms, 2.75 bathrooms, for a total of 3,942 square feet.  Edward Krigsman, of Windermere, is the listing agent and they have put up an excellent website – Vista ’63.  Only a few issues;  there looks to be popcorn ceiling in the dining and living rooms (quarter inch drywall will cover that); and the 2nd bathroom looks a little dated.  Otherwise; the kitchen has been tastefully updated, the windows look to be double glazing, and it should be a really fun house to live in.  Also, that’s a lot of roof, start inviting your roofer to dinner.

Open House: Sunday, November 16th,  1-4pm
