North Seattle’s Bali Modern

By April 6, 2016

North Seattle

Hiding in North Seattle at 11509 32nd Ave NE is an amazing mid-century modern known as the Bali Modern House.

Built in 1954, originally designed by Ibsen Nelsen (Museum of Flight, Inn at the Market, Merrill Court townhouses), it was acquired and lovingly renovated by Mitchell Smith of Michael Smith Design Build.

Though only 990 square feet with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom it looks like it feels much larger, especially in the summers, given that its 6,600 square foot lot has been transformed into an outdoor oasis with a 240 square foot loggia, 420 square foot outdoor dining area with koi pond, 200 square foot pavilion and a 275 square foot shop/garage/studio.

Priced at $700,000, this home hasn’t been on the market since 1999 and we suspect won’t last long.
