Palatine Passive

By June 3, 2016

Greenwood

Here’s your chance to say goodbye to utility bills and live in a ultra-low energy home.

8713 Palatine Ave N is known as “Palatine Passive”. Designed by Malboeuf Bowie Architecture and has now received passive home certification. What is a passive house? Wikipedia says:

The term passive house (Passivhaus in German) refers to a rigorous, voluntary standard for energy efficiency in a building, reducing its ecological footprint. It results in ultra-low energy buildings that require little energy for space heating or cooling.

Given our utility bills on our floating home in Eastlake, I would love to have the utility bills of a passive home!

Priced at just over $1m, it is 2,700 square feet and has 3 bedrooms, 2.25 bathrooms on a 5,080 square foot lot.

We love not just the green features, but it stands out too. Wide open living spaces, tall ceilings, custom railings and what looks like a kid’s loft with ladder. (We had a kid’s loft growing up. It was awesome.)
