First Light Seattle

The First Light sales center finally opened this past week and we got a peek inside with one of our clients last Wednesday. The “First Light Pavilion” is made up of a sales pavilion and a gallery. The gallery has models of other West Bank projects, some videos, a sample of the landscaping for the secret garden and recent art by John Hogan. While the sales center has both a kitchen and bathroom with closet built out, but no full model unit.

So how does the kitchen and bathroom look? The finishes for both the kitchen and bathrooms are very minimal – “sophisticated minimalism” in their words. The kitchen sports matte cabinets (either black or white) with no pulls, and matte countertops (not quartz, but something similar). Appliance package is Miele with a gas cooktop. The kitchen faucet is a black Kohler fixture.

I do like the minimalist look that that they’re going for, and the Miele appliance package is nice (though I prefer induction to gas). I do find it funny that black and white appliances are making a comeback! Granted, they do look better than the black and white appliances of the past.

For the bathroom, I like the large format terrazzo tile, floating vanity with under lighting, and wall mounted toilet. For the closets, I like that the closets are finished with built-ins and that you don’t need to pay extra for a California Closet upgrade as is typical with new construction condos.

Some of the other notable things we learned:

  • They’re using triple pane windows
  • 5 “smart” elevators
  • The bike room, really a lounge, has a ramp to the outside, no awkward elevator trip required
  • They have refrigerated storage for your online grocery delivery
  • Central hot water
  • 4-pipe heating system
  • Lights and thermostats controlled by Alexa
  • Hardwoods are from Kentwood

Friends and family sale starts on the 4th. For everyone else, you’ll need to visit and register as a VIP. Sales for the VIPs start on the 12th.

I own and manage Urban Living, a boutique Seattle and Bellevue real estate brokerage. I love lofts, floating homes, new construction, and mid-century moderns, but I will help you buy or sell just about anything!
