Weekly Wrapup – Feels Like Spring!

By February 1, 2019

Market Report

“It feels like spring out there!” is what all the agents I spoke with this past week have said. And they weren’t referring to the sunny weather we were having. This past week, and the one before, seemed to mark a turning point from what we had been seeing for the second half of 2018, as touring activity was strong and reasonably priced homes, mainly single-family homes, were seeing multiple offers.

In terms of our war stories, we started the week by losing a bidding war on a $300k condo, but won a bidding war on a Shoreline townhome that had been for sale for months. Then we helped buyers get a Wallingford townhome, had two offers on a Ballard townhome listing of ours that had been on the market for two weeks and accepted an offer on the other townhome we had listed. Busy!

We were also busy bringing our Paul Hayden Kirk mid-century modern back to market after the last buyer got cold feet and last Saturday we brought on a Queen Anne condo with amazing views. Those joined our still active listings at the Gallery and a two-bedroom on Beacon Hill.

If you’re thinking of selling, let’s chat sooner rather than later, as we think it is best to beat the rush this year. And if you’re thinking of buying, the options will get better every week for many months (except for President’s day week…)

Weather-wise, feels more like winter today :).

Reminder: we’re hosting a happy hour at the soon-to-open Emerald sales gallery.

I own and manage Urban Living, a boutique Seattle and Bellevue real estate brokerage. I love lofts, floating homes, new construction, and mid-century moderns, but I will help you buy or sell just about anything!
