Jim Olson-designed sub-penthouse has industrial vibes and bay views

Belltown, Grandview, Seattle Condos

2201 3rd Avenue Unit 2601, one of two units on the second-highest floor of the Grandview, really revels in its spaciousness. The home was remodeled by Olson Kundig co-founder Jim Olson, and has a really classic industrial luxury to it, with concrete floors and metallic finishes for an art-gallery feel.

It’s a design that lends itself well to being really big, and the unit’s current layout has no problem showing it off. Around the corner from the open kitchen, living, and dining area is a den or game room, currently home to both a pool table and a motorcycle. In the master suite, the walk-in closet is the size of most bedrooms. The bathtub gets its own room, too—encased by a generous margin of glass with a view of the city and Lake Union. The only room without a view appears to be the smaller bathroom.

Of course, because it’s a luxury condo, the amenities are nice, too: a clubroom, a gym, a shared terrace, and an indoor pool under atrium-style glass.
