Weekly wrap-up: surprising number of new listings last week

By November 9, 2020

Market Report

Last week was wild! Though as expected it was pretty quiet on the real estate front as we were all glued to our TVs and phones. Given it was expected to be a crazy election week I was surprised to see slightly more new listings last week compared to the week before. As for buyers, they took a break with fewer homes going pending, just 218, putting us at about the same pace as last year. However, buyers did not take a break for this Whidbey listing that supposedly had 31 offers!

I suspect we have two more weeks of a reasonable number of new listings before real estate really slows down for the holidays. Though if there is an overpriced listing you’ve been eyeing, late November and December can be a good time to strike.

Our fave new listing this past week is a penthouse loft at 80 S Jackson, wow! And if you’re looking to get away (but not too far), check out this Vashon mid-century home with a Ziggy Stardust pool bottom.

Finally, the stats on October are out. For single-family homes (and townhomes) we saw an all-time high for closes in a month and the median home price remains near an all-time high of $799,000. For condos, the median price inched up, but there are still a lot of condos for sale.

I own and manage Urban Living, a boutique Seattle and Bellevue real estate brokerage. I love lofts, floating homes, new construction, and mid-century moderns, but I will help you buy or sell just about anything!
