Seattle weekly wrap-up: another record # of homes pending
If you haven’t seen this week’s real estate TikTok it describes the current state of the market much better than I can! And I’m sure we can all relate to this one.
Jokes aside, I was surprised to see the number of new listings in Seattle decline this past week by 5%. Conventional wisdom would have had new listings declining during spring break and increasing afterward and instead, we saw the opposite! However, buyer demand continues to be very strong with the number of homes going under contract last week in Seattle setting a new record at 362. (The Eastside is mirroring what we’re seeing in Seattle.)
Of the 352 new listings this week our faves are a West Seattle modern pending in 2 days (!), a new construction $7 m Broadmoor home pending in 4 days, a Paul Hayden Kirk inspired midcentury in Blue Ridge, a Washington Park mid-century, a contemporary remodel in Madison Valley and finally a decent looking townhome. Most notable would be that a noted art collector is selling his condo perched above Harvard Market. I didn’t even know there’s a condo up there! (There’s actually two.)
On the Eastside, a $10m West Mercer waterfront estate went pending in no time, as did a new construction home in Juanita. Finally, check out the walls of glass on this place!
