Eastside weekly wrap-up: biggest week for new listings all year

By May 15, 2021

Market Report

After small gains in new listings the week before, the Eastside saw it’s biggest week for new listings all year. 308 new listings hit the market this week, marking an 18% increase week-over-week. This is still 16% below the same week in 2019. New listings on the Eastside have been anemic for the last three weeks, so hopefully we see a run up to Memorial Day with new sellers. It was also a massive week for new listings in Seattle for those considering both sides of the lake.

Buyers are still out in force on the Eastside as they put 233 homes under contract this past week. This just about the same as the previous week and up 6% over 2019. With all the new listings, some of that competition should ease off a bit. Sellers would be advised to get their homes listed soon before the summer weather and vaccinations begin to slow the market down!

For those looking for new construction condos, we’ve heard that One88 is down to just three developer-owned units. Stay tuned for our new construction update coming early next week and check out our new construction pipeline for all the on-going projects we’re tracking.

For homes that caught our eye this week, we liked this modern new construction with farmhouse touches in Medina, completion targeted for 2022. We also like this mid-century modern in Bellevue and this West of Market NW contemporary in Kirkland. Also, this fully remodeled home on the Grand Canal came back on the market with a $700k price reduction and went pending in just one day!
