Eastside weekly wrap-up: sellers take a break for the long weekend

By July 3, 2021

Market Report

Hope everyone gets a relaxing long weekend! As expected, most sellers took the week off as only 122 new listings came on the market. Maybe the extreme heat kept them away? It didn’t slow down buyers on the Eastside, as 256 homes were put under contract this week. It got to 115 degrees in some parts of the Eastside so more power to those brave agents and clients who got after it!

Only a few homes caught our eye this week but this full-floor penthouse condo at Bellevue Towers took the cake! For a local retreat, check out this NW contemporary log cabin down in Auburn. If you’re looking to cool off by the water, you can either head down to the lake for this Chesmore Buck NW contemporary in Kirkland or head inland to this log home estate on the Cedar River.

Something else to keep an eye on this week is the corporate news and the return to the office. Puget Sound Business Journal put out multiple stories which are sure to have an impact on the Eastside market. Amazon is planning new office space in Redmond for up to 1,400 workers, adding 1,000 workers to the 400 already working there. In addition, the Broderick Group reported increased demand for office leases in Bellevue in Q2. PSBJ also reported that the massive three-tower Cloudvue project had their master plan conditionally approved by the city of Bellevue. Cloudvue is estimated to bring 500+ new residences but it’s likely we won’t see those available for sale for 4-5 years.

Thinking of buying a home? We’re hosting a home buying class July 7th at 4 pm.
