Seattle weekly wrap-up: sellers take the long weekend off

By July 4, 2021

Market Report

Happy 4th of July! If the heat had you sweating, get in line for an AC installation or buy this $3.5m floating home at Ward’s Cove. While it was hot, it was a little cooler on the water and we had a ton of fun in and on the water this past week thanks to our floating home.

Not surprisingly there were very few new listings this week as many listing agents advise against listing ahead of a long weekend when many buyers might be out of town. Nonetheless, ~150 new listings hit the market (down from 461 the week before). What caught our eye was this modern treehouse in Denny Blaine (already pending!) and a loft at Monique.

Buyers still encountered a hot market this past week even with the weather “cooling”. For instance, we had a client offer on a home in the Central District listed in the $700s – it had 12 offers and went for just under $1m, all contingencies waived with earnest money early released. But we did help a client beat out the competition on a Queen Anne condo.

Thinking of buying a home? We’re hosting a home buying class July 7th at 4 pm.

I own and manage Urban Living, a boutique Seattle and Bellevue real estate brokerage. I love lofts, floating homes, new construction, and mid-century moderns, but I will help you buy or sell just about anything!
