Eastside weekly wrap-up: the frustrating fall for buyers continues

By October 31, 2021

Market Report

Eastside new listings dropped 14% week-over-week with just 147 homes hitting the market. Low inventory is heightening the frustration for buyers and I don’t blame them! One of the homes we toured was only available during the open house which had a steady stream of attendees and 5-10 parties through while we were there. Another had 32 tours in the first 24 hours!

On the other end of the spectrum, several buyers are now looking to tour condos and co-ops – maybe something is shifting? Perhaps, they’re just frustrated with the single-family home market and are hoping to find something affordable.

For homes we liked this week, my favorite was this $2.8M solar powered contemporary home in Kirkland, complete with four Tesla Power Walls… plus an ADU and great views! This $4.2M Clyde Hill home has been owned by one family since 1968 and went pending in just three days. Check out the remodel in this Mid-Island rambler on Mercer Island. For new construction, a $3M PNW modern farmhouse in Kirkland from Enfort Homes caught our eye!

Go Hawks!

And don’t forget that we’re hosting a virtual home buying class if you’re looking ahead to 2022 on November 9th @ 4 PM!
