Seattle weekly wrap-up
The first week of the year started surprisingly strong with 184 new listings. On the other hand, buyers didn’t put a lot of places under contract but keep in mind pendings lag a week and there wasn’t much inventory the week between Christmas and the New Year. But the craziest story we heard was this Instagram-ready West Seattle rambler receiving 22 offers, three over $1m. Expect whatever hits the market to go pending quickly and for a lot over.
What caught our eye last week? A stylish Greenwood midcentury and a Lake Washington waterfront estate. This week what is catching our eye, is the tastefully remodeled Craftsman we just listed in Greenwood check out the before photo. The showing calendar is quickly filling up, it’ll be a hot one!
This past week on the blog we looked back at the most expensive sales of 2021 (amazingly the number of closings over $5m doubled from 2020), the most expensive condo sales, the craziest bidding wars (68% over!) as well as the homes we helped our clients buy and sell. We also dug into new construction in Seattle and on the Eastside giving you an update of where things stand going into a new year.
Thinking of buying this year? We’re doing a Zoom home buying class this Thursday at 4pm. We’ll dig into the numbers like how the median price for single-family homes is off its peak, but will likely exceed it in a few months.
Thinking of selling? We’re happy to help you get your home picture perfect and ready to sell for top dollar.
P.S. Thanks to your help we raised $5,150 for Mary’s Place!
