Seattle weekly wrap-up: happy Thanksgiving!

By November 26, 2022

Market Report

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. Our family took advantage of the nice weather and smoked a turkey; it turned out great!

Not surprisingly, it was a slow week for new listings. We saw sellers put just 68 new listings on the market in Seattle, making it the slowest week of the year for new listings. Next week I expect we’ll see around 140 new listings, then things will continue to slow as we head into the holidays. At this point, most sellers will be waiting for 2023, at least ours all are!

As for buyers, they put 127 homes under contract, making it the second slowest week of the year. Next week might be even slower given there weren’t many new listings for buyers this week. Rates at 6.6% don’t seem to be spurring much demand!

We kept busy this week handing off keys to our clients who closed on a new home by Lynne White on the top of Queen Anne (we need more women developers!) And we have a handful of other buyers touring homes and testing sellers to see just how much wiggle room there is on pricing right now.

The Urban Living holiday party is next Saturday! We’re going skating at the Kraken Community Iceplex and have a rink to ourselves with lots of food, drinks, and a skating Santa. So if you’re thinking of working with us next year to buy or sell, we’d be happy to have you join us, just hit reply and I’ll send you an invite!
