Queen Anne High School Industrial Arts Building
1400 2nd Ave N, Seattle, WA, USA
In 1955, the Industrial Arts Building was built as an addition to the Queen Anne High School, on the southwest corner of the property. The school closed in 1981 due to decreasing enrollment, at which point students were transferred to various high schools in the district. The building underwent an adaptive re-use renovation process to become residential apartments in 1986. Then, in 2006, they were renovated again and turned into condos. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places and is also an official City of Seattle landmark. The Industrial Arts Building has a midcentury vibe to it as compared to the neoclassical style of the main Queen Anne High School building. It is home to 16 units a mix of studios and two-story, two-bedroom homes. See our other page on the main Queen Anne High School condos.
