Eastside weekly wrap-up: new listings pop back up after Labor Day Weekend

By September 12, 2021

Market Report

New listings jumped back up 85% this past week in the expected surge of sellers getting their homes on the market to catch the autumn home-buying window. It doesn’t feel like enough though as buyers were still busy throughout August. Sellers, there is definitely still demand for homes so the next couple of weeks are probably the best time to get your home on the market until March. Buyers, the best selection of homes for the rest of the year will likely be September as well as new listings should dwindle from now until November when everyone takes a break for the holidays.

Pending homes sales also had the expected drop given that there just weren’t that many available homes last week. Expect this to jump back next week as more listings hit the market.

For other market news, numbers for how the Eastside did in August are out. For both single-family homes and condos, median sales price stayed below the all-time highs hit earlier in the summer despite stronger buyer demand than in past years.

For homes we liked this week – this mid-century rambler in Bellevue was a star and our favorite is the cantilever on this modern design in Kirkland. Check out the vaulted ceilings in this home in Kirkland and we also liked this mid-century modern on Mercer Island.
