Ballard Modern on the Park

Listed last week was this new construction townhouse in Ballard. Unit B of this pair is already pending but you can still get your hands on Unit A for $450K. Located at 912 NW 52nd St, the townhouse offers 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and 1,760 square feet plus several interesting features: care-free yard, floor-to-ceiling windows, and, oh yeah, it is Built Green.

I’m digging on the asymmetrical design of the townhouse pair (Unit A is presumably the one on the right side of the photo with a single level of floor-to-ceiling windows) and the materials used of steel, tile, and rough-hewn wood from a local fallen tree. I’m not so excited about carpet in the master and the design of the bathroom is one I’ll have to ponder for a while. On first blush I like the look but then I start to wonder if no drawers and that wood countertop are a rather impractical choice? I’ll hold out hope that if mirrors are forthcoming then maybe a storage solution is too.
