Eastside weekly wrap-up: new listings hit new high for 2021
Last week, we predicted that new listings would rebound after the Memorial Day lift. However, we were not expecting to hit a new high for 2021. 324 new listings (104% increase week-over-week) is a great sign going into the summer months. Buyers, now’s the time to kick the search into high gear. We think there will be 2-3 strong weeks of new listings before the summer slow-down in July and August. If you have questions, we’re hosting a home-buying class on Wednesday.
Predictability, buyers put very few homes under contract last week. We’re expecting this to rebound this week with the high in new listings. Sellers, if you’re still thinking about selling we’d encourage you to get your home listed before the 4th of July.
A couple of midcentury homes caught our eye this week – an updated midcentury in Medina (with one of the coolest footprints I’ve ever seen), a tranquil midcentury on Mercer Island – koi pond included. A handful of contemporary homes also stood out – this PNW home in Kirkland designed by Fred Repass, this contemporary home in Kirkland’s West of Market neighborhood, and the high ceilings in this architecturally unique rambler in Redmond give it a “loft” feeling.
