Eastside weekly wrap-up: new listings up 10% week-over-week
This week, new listings coming on the market ticked 10% upwards. Pending home sales dropped 15% this week, as expected with the drop in new listings the week prior and Father’s Day. Next week, we can expect a big drop in both new listings and pending home sales due to the 4th of July. After the holiday, we’re looking for one more big week of new listings before sellers take a break for the summer.
We’ve also hit the halfway mark on the year. To zoom out a little bit, the total number of new listings is up 15% year-over-year but down 8% compared to 2019. This year has trended closer to 2019 than 2020 – we’ll see how the second half of the year plays out. The market should be slowing down but anecdotally, there seem to be multiple offers on every condo now and new home builders on the Eastside are releasing homes one at time with lots of demand.
For cool homes this week, we liked this classic midcentury modern in Sibleywood, this PAN ABODE home with 91 feet of waterfront in Holmes Point, this modern farmhouse in Kirkland, and this NW contemporary on east Lake Sammamish. For getaways, this cabin in Carnation sits on seven acres!
