Eastside weekly wrap-up: new listings up 8% week-over-week
In a late September bump, new listings were up over 8% week-over-week as 211 sellers put their homes on the market. If you’re wondering why last year’s new listings were so much higher, this is about the time that businesses were re-opening and folks were getting a handle on social distancing enough to let real estate resume. Despite this week, we’re fully expecting the next four weeks to look more like 2020 than 2019. Although, 32 offers on a home in North Seattle and this Somerset Hill midcentury listed at $1.6M going pending after one day on the market might have sellers doing a double take and putting their home on the market before the spring!
Buyers, as we’ve been saying, fewer listings means those who are set on getting into a new home before the holidays will have more competition on less selection. Most homes are still coming off the market on their offer review date but we have seen a handful go past their deadline by a few days.
For homes we liked this week, there were a couple of PNW contemporary new construction stand-outs in Issaquah and Mercer Island. Another PNW contemporary in Sammamish has over an acre if you’re looking for space and the one-acre lot next door is available as well. For midcentury modern, you can’t beat a west-facing beachfront home on Lake Sammamish! Looking for a mountain home? Check out this custom built home near Tiger Mountain in Issaquah.
