Two Queen Anne High Units Listed
Two condos at Queen Anne High School were listed late last week. Both are west-facing 1-bedrooms on the second floor that sold well before the final 13 units in the building were auctioned in 2009 but the resemblance ends there.
#266 is listed for $249K. It has 649 square feet, 15′ ceilings, and is described as loft-like. This condo is located in the school extension that was originally built in 1929.
#243 is asking $285K for 840 square feet that includes a bedroom + den, and a farm style sink among the stainless steel appliances in the kitchen. This condo resides in the original structure that was built in 1909.
The condo interiors are great, but I really like the looks of the massive pipes in this hallway:
Queen Anne High School condos are located at 201 Galer St. According to a 2006 article in the Seattle PI, the Seattle Board of Education erected the original neoclassical school atop Queen Anne Hill in 1909 and expanded it in 1929 and 1955. The district closed the school in 1981 and, in 1986, sold it to developers, who converted it into 139 apartments in 2006.
