It details the cost of items such as an additional cable jack ($486) to motorized blinds ($9,940).
However, $181 for a wire basket in the shower and $4,591 for hardwood in the bedroom seem a little over priced.

I googled the appliances. I can get them for much less.
for example. The SubZero that they want 6700+ for retails at $5600 and I just found it online for $4200.
Similar discounts for all the other stuff…miele, gaggeneau, wolf et al. White glove delivery…installation is cheap.

Upgrades are usually overpriced. I had a carpet upgrade on my last place, not only could I have got it cheaper - I’m pretty sure they installed a cheaper carpet!
I used the builder’s upgrades so I could move in right away. The next time I’ll delay moving in and contract out the upgrades myself, that’ll also allow me to paint before moving in.

don’t forget, if you end upgrading after you move in, you still have the old appliance to resell. heck, that would easily pay for installation. install guys would probably trade straight up for it.
i’m not going to go for a single upgrade. i wanted to do hardwood in bedroom but not at that wacked out price.
did anyone notice the $3k they want for an extra shower head? yikes

i spoke too soon…i’ve decided to go with the shower option at $5500
